New role supports BioVigil's growth, scalability plans
ANN ARBOR, Mich., July 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- BioVigil, the leader in electronic hand hygiene technology solutions for healthcare facilities, has hired Jason Tercek as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Tercek will oversee operations and drive BioVigil's commercial strategy, including new partnerships and scaled growth plans. Tercek comes to BioVigil from TeleTracking, a global patient logistics platform, where he was Commercial Vice President for North America. He was also a partner at Tailwater Advisors, a healthcare business consultancy.
"I'm thrilled to have Jason join the leadership team at BioVigil. He brings incredible operational and commercial talents to the company at the perfect time, given our rapid growth trajectory," said Erik Axter, BioVigil CEO.
BioVigil technology provides the most accurate way to observe and record a provider's handwashing compliance. The complete electronic hand hygiene system includes room sensors, alcohol vapor-sensing badges, sink sensors and a robust data suite. Data is linked to each individual user's badge, so teams can monitor hand hygiene compliance, track cross contamination, and conduct thorough contact-tracing.
"This is a really exciting time to join BioVigil, as we launch new partnerships and prepare for next-level expansion," said Tercek. "At the end of the day, this is about better safety and quality for patients and reducing risk for healthcare providers. At some point, we are all patients. I have been fortunate to spend my career helping to improve care delivery through access, safety and efficiency."
The BioVigil system has helped numerous partners across the country achieve 97% hand hygiene compliance, reduce HAIs by up to 83%, improve Leapfrog quality grades, and eliminate HAC penalties. These improvements drive documented financial impact to the health system and are an important component to their overall risk management strategy.
